The Faculty of Economics, Socio-Human Sciences and Engineering, Miercurea Ciuc, of the 15-year-old Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania has accomplished one of its goals: according to the examined data, the university is popular mostly among the Szekler youth. From among the 233 students who enrolled last year, only 12% came from outside of the three Szekler counties.

Survey of the state of Szeklerland
On Thursday afternoon in Sf. Gheorghe a voluminous document, a volume of studies was presented about the current state of Szeklerland. On the order of the National Strategic Research Institute, young researches of different specializations, primarily staff members of the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania have assumed the task. The elderly people from the region of Miercurea Ciuc relax mostly by going on trips, picnicking and celebrations; regular programs organized by clubs, associations and foundations are provided for them. This year about 150 students from Harghita, Covasna, Mureș, Cluj, Sălaj and Bihor counties attended the Lab Geek (Laborkukac) contest. For the final round 30 teams participated in Miercurea Ciuc.
