Sociology is the science that deals with the study of human social life, groups, and society, exploring how our social existence is modeling our behavior, beliefs and identity. Perhaps the most important merit of sociology is that it helps us understand ourselves, as well as the always transforming society, in which we live.

With the help of sociology we can better understand who and what we are, how we can find our place in society, and what are the basic rules that determine our daily existence. Training in sociology develops, among others, skills related to understanding ethnic, economic, gender relations, as well as social relations in general. This specific perspective enables the sociologist to look more objectively, more detached upon the society they live in, thus having a better positioning perspective. In addition, one of the peculiarities of the undergraduate program in Miercurea Ciuc is the direction of regional development. Our students benefit from the opportunity to gain both theoretical and practical experience in the areas of: social research, social development, social policy and attracting resources projects.

Our licensees may find jobs, besides in the social research institutions, within the county or local authority (eg. Children Protection, Cultural Centers, etc..), non-governmental organizations, as well as project writing, strategy planning or consultancy companies. During the years spent studying at Sapientia, the forming of relationships with potential employers is facilitated through study tours and internships.

• file-based exam: high school graduation exam average– 100%

In case of equal points, the highest mark obtained in one of the subjects close to the elected specialization will be decisive.
