We are pleased to invite you to our conference, which provides an opportunity for young researchers, lecturers and PhD students to present and discuss their research results.

Cities across the globe are experiencing unprecedented growth, resulting in the emergence of dynamic hubs characterised by opportunities, culture, and technology. Conversely, peripheral regions, including rural communities, underserved suburbs, and isolated towns, face significant challenges in accessing the same resources, services, and opportunities. This imbalance not only creates geographic divides but also gives rise to economic, social, and technological disparities.

In the era of profound technological change, characterised by the advent of artificial intelligence, there exists a unique opportunity to address the existing disparities. The concept of innovation is no longer limited to the physical infrastructure of a given area; it now encompasses the digital realms, thereby influencing our perception of connectivity, accessibility and inclusivity. From the application of artificial intelligence in the field of urban planning to the utilisation of predictive analytics for the allocation of resources in rural areas, technology can act as a conduit for the integration of peripheral communities with the opportunities afforded by urban centres.

Nevertheless, innovation is not a panacea. It is imperative that we consider the following: How might we address the structural barriers—economic, political, and cultural—that prevent peripheries from being integrated into the global economy and society, even in an interconnected world? Furthermore, it is essential to consider how collaboration across sectors can be fostered in order to develop sustainable and inclusive solutions.

The language of the conference is English and Hungarian (without translation).

Proceedings

All the accepted papers will be published online (e-book).

Some papers selected by the Scientific Committee will be published in the Acta Universitatis Sapientiae, Economics and Business.

Conference fee

One participant	60 EUR
Two participants with one presentation	110 EUR
Discount after every 4th participant from the same institution: 100% (example: if there are 4 participants from a university, they only pay 3 fees altogether, that is, 3*60 EURO).
Conference excursion fee (23rd of May)	30 EUR
