Teams of 2-3 high school students with a desire to have their knowledge measured up had the opportunity to register for a contest until the 25th of March 2015.

Some guidelines regarding the first round:
1. Each team may fill the questionnaire only once, on the 30th of March 2016 between 12 and 2 p.m. This is the only date and time when the questionnaire, in the form of a Google document, will be available.
2. The questionnaire contains 60, mostly multiple-choice questions.
3. The questions will be related to various cultural (heritage buildings, art, etc.) and ecological treasures of the Carpathian basin. Due to the high diversity of the topic, we cannot suggest any specific material for preparation.
4. The link to the questionnaire will be sent out to the registered emails and websites on Wednesday the 30th of March 2016 at 11:55.
5. The questionnaire has to be completed in 120 minutes, so responses sent in after 2 p.m.will not be accepted.
6. During the competition, a phone number (0722-173431) and a service email address (sapitourversenygmail.com) will be available in order to provide technical support if necessary.
7. After the first round, 12 teams will be selected based on the best scores. The achieved scores and the correct answers will be posted on Thursday the 31st of March in the morning, the latest.
Please remember: filling in the questionnaire is primarily group work that needs cooperation. Obviously teams with greater knowledge base will be at an advantage, but speed is also going to be an important factor.
Internship opportunities in April
The St. George Days organizing team are looking for interns. This year the Mayor's Office of Sfântu Gheorghe (Sepsiszentgyörgy) organizes the St. George Days, one of the largest cultural events in the Carpathian Basin.

New study about synthetized compounds with antimicrobian effect
The study of the PhD student Réka-Ştefana Mezey was published in an international journal, in which she describes how she managed to synthesize five new cupreous aromas and their antimicrobial effect was studied by the Department of Bioengineering of Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania, under the guidance of dr. István Máthé. The research was published in the international journal called Polyhedron.

This year the annual Studium conference of the Department of Social Sciences is organized on December 16, 10 a.m. in the Tutor’s office (room 114B).

We have the winners of this year’s translators’ competition

The minimum requirements of public speaking
Júlia Gyéresi, professor at the University of Arts Tîrgu-Mureș will give a two-day training course on speaking techniques on December 17th and 18th. The training is free of charge. The only condition for participation is for you to be a student at Sapientia.
